In recent years, lighting has played an increasing role in defining how we engage events and programs we participate in.  Television programs like “The Voice” and “American Idol,” as well as the rise of the Music Video have impacted how we relate to live concerts and other musical performances, providing visual stimulation along with the musical expressions.  Literally millions of dollars and hundreds of hours are invested in achieving these images, placing them beyond the reach of all but the most well-heeled productions.

Production lighting — for concerts, events, fund-raisers, banquets, etc — represents an increasing percentage of the professional lighting field.  In addition, a whole market for low-cost “DJ” equipment has been created.

Matchless Lighting & Design seeks to provide a simpler and more economical solution for people with a story to tell, but more modest means.  We frankly do not invest in the more expensive “state-of-the-art” tools, but make use of time-proven technologies, to create images that support the message without trying to compete with it.

Much of what we do is to create a pleasing environment into which a client can share a vision, or a dream, or a need before an audience not being distracted by an often visually disruptive environment.

Theatrical lighting techniques have long been used on the Stage to set scenes, create a mood, establish a sense of time, and to direct attention.  These same principles can be applied to other presentations, to accomplish much the same goals.
